In short: An EPABX connects your incoming phone lines to internal extensions, so staff can call each other and share outside lines. We install and set up EPABX systems for offices, schools, hospitals and hotels in Kozhikode, Wayanad, Malappuram and Kannur.

When staff are spread across rooms, floors or blocks, walking over or shouting across is no way to work. An EPABX (electronic private automatic branch exchange) is a small telephone exchange for your premises. Every desk or room gets an extension, staff call each other with a short number, and incoming calls from your phone lines can be answered at reception and transferred to the right person. We install EPABX and intercom systems for offices, schools, hospitals, hotels and businesses in Kozhikode, Wayanad, Malappuram and Kannur. We have installed Matrix EPABX systems.

What an EPABX does

  • Internal extensions: each phone gets a short extension number; calls between extensions stay inside your premises.

  • Shared incoming lines: your telephone lines connect to the EPABX, so several people can use them.

  • Call transfer: reception answers and transfers calls to the right extension.

  • Other features, such as call groups, a welcome message, or extensions on mobile phones, depend on the model.

Planning the system

  • Extensions: how many rooms or desks need a phone now, and how many later.

  • Lines: how many incoming telephone lines you have, and from which provider.

  • Cabling: a cable run to each extension, using phone cable or network cable depending on the system.

  • Reception: whether reception needs a console phone to manage calls.

  • Spare capacity: choosing a system that can take more extensions as you grow.

How a project works

  1. Free site survey: we count extensions and lines, and plan cable routes.

  2. Quotation: covering the EPABX unit, phones, cabling and labour.

  3. Installation: the EPABX mounted, cables run, phones placed.

  4. Setup: extension numbers, incoming lines and call transfer set up for your organisation.

  5. Testing and handover: we test calls between extensions, incoming and outgoing calls and transfers, and show reception and staff how to use the system.

Repairs and existing EPABX systems

If extensions have gone dead, incoming calls are not reaching reception, or the EPABX shows a fault, we can inspect it, including systems installed by other companies. We first check the EPABX model, wiring, lines and the fault. Whether it can be repaired depends on the equipment and parts availability; some older systems may need replacement.

What affects the cost

  • the number of extensions and incoming lines

  • cable length to each extension

  • the phones chosen, and a reception console if needed

  • the features you need

What to tell us

  • the type of organisation and your location

  • how many extensions you need, and how many lines you have

  • whether you already have an EPABX or phone wiring
