How a video door phone works

• Outdoor unit: a camera, microphone, speaker and call button at the gate or door.

• Indoor monitor: a screen inside the house or reception, where you see and talk to the visitor.

• Door or gate release: with an electric lock connected, you can open the door or gate from the indoor monitor, where the unit supports it.

• Phone answering: some models connect to Wi-Fi so you can answer from your phone, even when you're away. This depends on the model and needs internet at the site.

Planning the installation

• More than one monitor: for example on each floor of a house, where the system supports extra monitors.

• Lock: if you want to open the door or gate remotely, we fit a suitable electric lock.

Repairs and replacing old door phones

If your door phone has no picture, no sound, or no longer opens the door, we can inspect it, including systems installed by other companies. We first check the model, wiring, power supply and the fault. Whether it can be repaired depends on the equipment and parts availability. If an old unit needs replacing, we check whether the existing wiring can be reused.
